Julian Henneberg is a Magister student at the FU Berlin’s Peter Szondi Institute for Comparative Literature and the John F. Kennedy Institute for North American studies, where he specializes in the culture and literature of the United States. He has a background in comparative literature, critical theory, as well as film and media studies. From 2008 to 2009, Henneberg spent a year as a Fulbright scholar at Duke University’s graduate program in literature. His focus is on contemporary American literature, especially in connection with questions of postmodernity, globalization, and technology. Aside from his academic pursuits, Henneberg works as a translator. Together with Alexander Greenberg, he is currently preparing the first English translation of the second volume of Peter Weiss’s The Aesthetics of Resistance for Duke University Press. Upon completion of his studies, Henneberg is looking to enroll in a PhD program in either American studies or comparative literature.
