Koen Potgieter

Koen Potgieter is a recent graduate from the MA program in American studies at the University of Groningen. He is currently developing a research proposal and would like to start pursuing his academic interests—twentieth-century literature and literature as a cultural institution in the United States—at the PhD level. Additionally, he is interested in the philosophical work of Slavoj Žižek, especially in those writings that develop the psychoanalytic theories of Jacques Lacan. In his spare time, Potgieter likes to read novels by American authors and is a great fan of French New Wave cinema—he is also a lifelong supporter of the Chicago Bulls.
