Deborah Pomeranz

Deborah Pomeranz is an MA student in American studies at Humboldt University in Berlin. She received her BA from Brown University in 2018. The article that appears in this journal draws heavily from the research she conducted while writing her bachelor’s thesis, titled “Policing the City: How Discourses of Public Safety Reshaped New York.” When she is not thinking through the interplay of race, gender, and sexuality in modern American history, you can find her swing dancing.
