Svenja Fehlhaber completed her BA in English and History at the Leibniz University of Hannover in 2010 with a thesis on the construction of the postmodern dystopia in Paul Auster’s In the Country of Last Things. She is currently enrolled in the MA program for Advanced Anglophone Studies and the Master of Education program for English and History at the Leibniz University of Hannover. Recently she also studied at the University of Bristol, UK.

In March 2012, she delivered a paper on trauma studies at the American Comparative Literature Association’s annual conference at Brown University, MA. She will have finished her studies in 2013. After that she plans on starting a PhD program in American studies. 

Her research interests range from the genesis and transformation of American national myths to Modernist high- and middlebrow as well as postmodern literature and popular culture, with a special interest in literary and cultural theory, film studies, and interdisciplinary approaches.
