Theresa Rieger

Theresa completed a four-year BA Plus program in American Studies at Leipzig University in 2016. As part of this program, she spent some time abroad interning with a publisher in Berkeley, California and doing coursework in critical theory and American 20th century literature at Ohio University in 2015. While Theresa returned from this experience with a particular interest in gender performativity, war narratives, and young adult literature, it simultaneously flipped her career plans of working in publishing on their head. Sparing you the whole story of puzzling over what the future holds for her, she eventually decided to return to her roots as a daughter of teachers. She is now a student of the American Studies MA program and an additional teaching program at Leipzig University. When she is not reading, she is easily amused by good puns and whatever subversive memes Hedwig sends her way.
